Realm Positions
-
Emperor / Empress
-
This arbitrator position can assist with general mediation / clan-disputes / foreign affairs / contact stones when the relevant subrealm/clan/Tor leader is unavailable. Note that while the position can influence, it cannot control autonomous clan actions.
Holder:
Diplomatic Relations To Other Realms
Realm Description
The lowlands represent an area of confederated clans/subrealms/Tors(old term) (each with their own internal laws, structure, leadership), bound by brotherly friendship or culture. No real obligation exist between its members, such as mutual protection, union of resources, or even peace. (meaning internal conflict or wargames are allowed and encouraged as it keeps clans alert, awake and strong due to experience gain)
Culture:
Northern pride, sovereignty and independence are greatly valued. There are no suzerain ties between the chieftains. One clan is not under allegiance to another.
- Lowlanders do not bend the knee: clans are sovereign status. Warriors are bound to their clans by friendship, respect or convenience, not duty and have their own relations toward one another.
- The Lowlands are freeholds of freemen: the owner of the land is the First One who holds it (allodial instead of feudal system), and they are free to sub-align themselves and their towns to whichever clan they want.
- The clans are fully independent of each other, hold no mutual obligations, are united through common culture (brotherhood) and in mutual protection against the larger clans or kingdoms. A very decentralized realm made of different groups that may at times appear to be in civil war like bees, though if you disturb the nest..
Future plans
- tournament or similar festival gathering activities every few years to build relations or even marriages between clans.
- Troops can be donated by larger clans to smaller clans with less estates. smaller clans can bring their units to the larger holds for upgrades / training.
- plans to build a North-South highway
