Oversees the education of new knights/nobles, keeping record of service for each new member until their completion.
The Court oversees the law of the land, creating laws, dictating policy, creating taxes, road construction, etc. All members have voting rights, except for the Grand Count who has the power to veto. The Court also tries administrative and civil cases. The Court functions under the discretion of the monarch.
A position held by the monarch's heir to the thrown of Insula, who is also the Marquise of Versaille. They rule until they transition to become the Duke/Duchess. The Central Government exercises authority in accordance with the Duchess. The unitary counties are bound to the exercise of powers and authorities within the Central Government.
The Unitary Counties of Insula shall two branches of government; the Sovereign and the Commissioner's Court.
The Monarch is the royal family of the Duke or Duchess. The person holding the title of Duke or Duchess shall be the Head of State of Insula. The Duke/Duchess has unlimited power over the affairs of Insula and the government as a whole.
The Commissioners Court is a collective body of the Counts/Countesses of the counties in Insula. They exercise power delegated to them by the Sovereign. They can create law, exercise military, and other powers granted to them by the Duke/Duchess.
The Duchess is the crowned monarch of Insula. She is the Head of State and the realm’s highest representative in international affairs. The monarch is also commander in chief of the armed forces, and the symbol of national unity. The monarch’s most important functions include the duty to summon and dissolve the legislature, appoint and accept the resignation of the prime minister and cabinet ministers, ratify laws, declare wars, and sign treaties decided upon by the government. The monarch has unlimited power over the affairs of Insula and the government as a whole.
The Commissioners Court is made up of the Counts/Countesses of the counties of Insula. The Court is presided over by the Grand Count who is the Marquise/Marquess of the Grand March of Versaille. The Court oversees the law of the land, creating laws, dictating policy, creating taxes, road construction, etc. All members have voting rights, except for the Grand Count who has the power to veto. The Court functions under the discretion of the monarch.
The Grand Count also serves as Insula's Judge, hearing and trying cases and passing verdicts. Every noble and knight and peasant of Insula is tried by the Grand Count, including those on the Commissioners Court. The Grand Count has jurisdiction throughout Insula on all matters such as administrative, economic and financial matters, criminal and civil matters, offenses against the Monarch, offenses between lords, and is the authoritative information on local customs and rights.
The Regional Government is the government of a county, consisting of a Count/Countess, appointed by the Monarch serving a life term. The Regional Government may pass specific regulations so long as they conform to legislation of the Commissioners Court. They may also receive funds from the central government and also levy their own taxes. Regional governments may establish local governments if they choose to.
All new knights must serve a compulsory three month military service. The Commander-in-Chief of the military is the Monarch, with the Marquise being the High General. As High General, the Marquise must maintain domestic order, conduct investigations and security throughout Insula, including the highways and borders. Furthermore, on the foreign affairs, the High General must conduct military action against any foreign country it chooses. He must also maintain a large military in Insula.
All new knights, at the same time while serving in the military, must complete a course in economics, government, and war, which is administered by a noble appointed by the monarch or the commissioners court.
