Realm Description
Royaume de Magvel, The Kingdom of Magvel.
The Kingdom of Magvel was founded on 7-40-2 by then-count of Renais, Frederick de Renais.
The formation of Magvel can be first traced to the formation of the then Grand County of Renais. A part of the lands that formed Renais were once composed of those under Dragonhaven. When Dragonhaven was found to be nothing more than a puppet state to Rathgar and its rulers to be culprit in the starvation of the West Coast lands, Renais sued for complete independence. The Renais War of Independence lasted about a week and involved few skirmishes mostly localized and small in size. Following the rise of the Kingdom of Magvel, The Grand County's designation was made that of a normal county
However, it wasn't until the successful Conquest of Primevére, the keep that had eluded his family for decades, that the movement for more prestige, higher authority and centralized government first presented itself.
The subsequent Magvel-Hawks allied victory at Gavrandvor during the Leyonian Campaign saw the old lands restructured into the Duchy of Nouveau Leyonia. The conflict is remembered as bloody since many mortals and First Ones alike had perished or were massively injured during battle.
The Unification of Kvernes Isle saw the lands of Westleigh, Oakworth, Keldcaster and Harport unified under a single power. When part of the veil fell, Magvel quickly moved to settle Westleigh and Oakworth which established the Free Port of East Kvernes Island. Keldcaster which is located on the western part of the isle was later acquired when the Order of the Blades fell to the slumber curse. Harport was last to fall as The Black Flag speared by the Black Baron Seddick Van Ness established a pirate lair. Seddick Van Ness was quickly defeated and the island was quickly unified under a central power.
The dark veil's complete destruction saw Magvel position itself as a strong Colonial Power, with multiple holdings concentrated west of the Black Dragon River which now compromise Fairshore. Magvel developed and maintained Free Ports in areas such as Reynir and Ocean's Retreat during the height of its power.
