Officially appointed by the Duke of Iuna, the Adjutant serves as a liaison between the Order and the Duke. They have the dual purpose of keeping an eye on the internal workings of the order, as well acting as the voice of the Duke within. This will usualy mean that they field the concerns of the organization, concerns being questions to the Blades' objectives or scope, the environment of the Order, or anything that a Blade thinks might not be worth the Duke's attention per se but worthy of consideration by him.
The Knight Captain is appointed by the Duke of Iuna to command the Blades of Iuna on his behalf. They are responsible for the Order in it's entirety, with it's successes and failures resting on their shoulders. Unlike lower ranks, this position is always referred to, in official capacities, as "Knight Captain".
The Knight Lieutenant serves under the Knight Captain and works with autonomy on Order business. They administer and command the lower ranks. Usually shortened to just "Lieutenant".
The entry level position for noble First Ones, as no First One is considered incapable of leading soldiers. Knight Sergeants carry out their orders as required by the Order, filling their ranks with militia. Normally this title is shortened to just "Sergeant".
A Sergeant who has displayed initiative and achieved seniority becomes a Sergeant Major. They may be assigned a number of Sergeants under their command and acts with autonomy to achieve their goals.
Has earned the Pathfinder medal for outstanding service in the field. This can be earned by successfully campaigning over large distances, setting foot on previously enveiled lands, or capturing strategic settlements.
Founded by decree of Duke Andrew Calinus on the 5th Day of the 26th Week of the 4th Year, the Blades are a Knightly Order chartered to carry out the will of a Council of Co-sponsors in matters both foreign and domestic.
The Sponsor nations are Iuna, Ascalon and Renais County,
Officially, the Blades are commanded by their Knight Captain, who handles the military command structure and organization of the Blades, planning out objectives for missions assigned to the Blades by the Duke and seeing to the day-to-day operation of the Order. Unlike other positions, the term of address is always "Knight Captain", never simply just "Captain".
Beside him stands the Adjutant Council who direct the Blades materially, and provide direction and resources.
Below them stand the Knight Lieutenants, who are normally in charge of a number of individuals within the Order. These Lieutenants are normally put in charge of a smaller squad of individuals, and handle the completion of objectives given by the Knight Captain. Usually just referred to as "Lieutenant"
Lastly, there are the Knight Sergeants, which make the bulk of the Order. As no noble would ever be considered incapable of leading troops, the position of private does not exist within the Blades, thus thise position is considered the entry-level rank. Normally just called "Sergeant".
