It represents the highest echelon of authority and leadership following the death of Triumvir Cailean and the subsequent removal of Triumvir Sharona Arbuckle, leaving Triumvir Asran as the singular ruler of the Triumvirate.

The term "Apotheon" carries a rich cultural connotation, loosely translating to "One who is exalted or elevated to a state of godhood" in Asrian society. This title signifies a position of supreme authority, suggesting that the person holding it has ascended to a divine-like status, wielding immense power and influence.

However, it's important to note that during the era of the Asrian Empire, the concept of being declared an "Apotheon" while still alive was met with significant controversy. Many of the empire's lords regarded it as sycophantic or even as a form of heresy. This is because claiming the title of Apotheon implies that one has already reached their pinnacle, becoming akin to a demigod in terms of status and capabilities. Such a claim was taken very seriously by The Ecclesia, reflecting the deep cultural and religious significance of the title in Asrian society.

It is usually an inheritable position for life (if not stripped by higher powers).

Rising from the ashes of the disbanded Triumvirate system emerged a singular, formidable figure - Triumvir Asran, now assuming the august titles of Apotheon and Autokrator, becoming the unchallenged ruler of the West.

Realm Description

The Dissolution of the Republic of the Grand Fate and the Joining of Caorran

The Kingdom of Caorran emerged as a new Duchy within the later stages of the Republic of the Grand Fate. It was founded through the efforts of the esteemed Caorrani hero, Eoghan Bardach, who assumed the role of the inaugural King following the dissolution of the Republic.

Upon his ascent to the throne of this newfound independent realm, King Eoghan I recognized the significance of being part of a larger political entity. Consequently, he chose to align his kingdom with the Western Confederation, and in doing so, he earned the esteemed position of an Arch-Chancellor within the Confederated Imperium of the Western States.

Under King Eoghan I's leadership, the Kingdom experienced remarkable expansion, encompassing a peak of 86 estates. This flourishing period also witnessed the emergence of eight noble Houses, which served as Dukes, Marquesses, and Counts, collectively supporting the King in his rule.

The Arrival of the Asrians and the Conversion to the Aeternum Solis

The historical narrative takes a significant turn with the arrival of the unslumbered Asrians, led by Asran 'Luxferre', in the western wastelands. This event not only marked the fall of the Wastes of the West but also heralded the ascendancy of the Provincia Asrania. As a gesture of goodwill, Empress Sharona Arbuckle integrated the Asrians into the Confederation, incorporating them as its latest Member-State.

Meanwhile, during this period, the world experienced a slumberblight pandemic. King Eoghan I and many Caorrani nobles succumbed to this slumberblight. In the wake of this unexpected slumber, Duke Cailean Cousland of Gallaran assumed the throne, thereby setting in motion a series of significant events.

Observing the fervor for the Eternal Sun exhibited by the Asrians, along with their remarkable progress and their efforts, such as the Crusade against Falconreach, King Cailean the Undying decided to embrace the Aeternum Solis. Collaborating with Duke Avalon an Dòchais, he orchestrated the sweeping conversion of the Caorrani populace to this faith.

The slumbering of Duke Altus Kruger and the Elector Realm of Katanwald further bolstered the Asrians, enabling them to extend their dominion into the slumber-stricken eastern territories.

With the two largest Subrealms within the Confederation now sharing a common faith, the establishment of new Cathedrals in Fairshore and in The Lowlands further amplified the influence of this faith. Aligned with the objective of achieving cultural cohesion across the western sphere to ensure the Confederation's stability, Empress Sharona Arbuckle resolved to convert and declare the Aeternum Solis as the official religion of the Confederation.

The Triumvirate Reformation and the Triumvir Wars

With the active Electorates now comprising Valentia, Caorran, and Provincia Asrania, a crucial decision was made to reshape the Confederation into a fully-fledged Empire, governed by a Triumvirate selected from the Electorates.

The Elector-Realms elected Triumvirs Cailean the Undying, Asran 'Luxferre', and former Empress Sharona Arbuckle, despite lingering animosity between Sharona and Asran, with Cailean persistently attempting to mediate between them.

However, on the fateful evening of 38-42-6, Sharona's forces marched upon the Ecclesial settlement of Naxos. Almost immediately, Solar Ecclesiarch Helia I excommunicated Sharona, rallying the faithful to reclaim the city. With the support of The Bright Custodians, Naxos was successfully reconquered, marking the commencement of the Triumvir Wars.

Triumvir Asran publicly denounced Sharona's actions and called for her imprisonment. In response, she fled south, prompting Asran to swiftly revoke her position as one of the Triumvirs. Collaborating with The Ecclesia and the forces from Provincia Asrania, troops from Caorran marched upon Sharona's capital of Erforderlich on 38-55-4 under the orders of Triumvir Cailean. They liberated the town, while the Asrians and Ecclesial soldiers annexed the remainder of Valentia.

Leveraging her connections within The Lowlands, Sharona secured the support of Maid Marion and Otto the Great, sparking a conflict between the West and the Lowlanders. Facing formidable adversaries, Fairshore and Ascalon soon joined the West against the forces from The Lowlands.

Surrounded and devoid of further support, the Lowlander Confederation met its demise, bringing an end to the Triumvir Wars. Triumvir Cailean called for an Inter-Realm Congress, gathering the rulers of the West, Fairshore, Ascalon, Falconreach, and The Ecclesia, with the objective of peacefully defining the borders between their nations, thus paving the way for lasting peace. On 39-35-2, nobles from these realms started gathering at Riverhall for deliberations.

Triumvir Cailean's Death and Asran's Ascension

Tragically, on 39-30-4, Cailean was attacked by the Talornidr on the outskirts of Orikos, led by the warrior Bahana d'Jelailos - Kingsdoom. Outnumbered and with enemy reinforcements arriving at every hour, the Undying King met his fate, a sad turn of events that rendered him unable to participate in the Congress he had played a pivotal role in organizing, instead being attended by his son and heir.

Yet, soon after his death, Triumvir Asran declared himself an Apotheon - a term that carries a rich cultural connotation in Asrian culture, loosely translating to "one who is exalted or elevated to a state of godhood." This title signifies a position of supreme authority, suggesting that the person holding it has ascended to a divine-like status, wielding immense power and influence, even over the Solar Ecclesiarch of the Aeternum Solis.

Furthermore, instead of calling upon the Western Senate for an election to fill the Triumvirs positions, Asran declared himself the sole ruler of the West, under the mantle of Autokrator, as the unchallenged ruler of the West.

The Solisian Empire

It was the year 40 within the sanctified chambers of the Saint Cyprianus Basilica, Asran Eternius Hirodanus ascended to the throne, declaring himself Emperor of the Western Domains and the Apotheon of the entire world. Within the sacred walls of this cathedral, his legions genuflected in unwavering loyalty, solemnly acknowledging him as their supreme leader. It was in this hallowed hall that his apotheosis was solemnized, and with resolute conviction, he declared his divine mandate to forge a united world beneath the resplendent Icon of the Sun.
