Realm Description

The County of Wakesworth, situated just South of the valley of Arescod forms the Southern half of Ascalon's heartlands. A heavily forested county deep within the Coi woods the county finds a Western border in the Bakavis river and an Eastern border in the Duchy of Ravenhold. The county itself consists of rolling hills and some fertile plains in the North where its famous wines are produced while the rest of the county is filled with forests, the king's hunting grounds and source of the great yew bows of the realm.

The economy of Wakesworth relies heavily on its rich wine harvest of the North and the great lumber hauls in the South, which are transported upstream and downstream the Bakavis on river barges. Famous for the many master fletchers inhabiting the region creating great yew self bows, or Ascalonian longbows in common tongue, which is another common export product. In the East of the county several mines also feed precious metal to the capital of realm for the production of renowned Ascalonian hardened steel armour.
