Eternal Sun is an independent realm.
This is the rulership position for the realm.
Nobles that have been singled out and raised up due to outstanding ability.
The King's Second. All power and authority fall to this position should the King become incapacitated or unavailable.
Recognized and responsible for world knowledge and relationships, Ambassadors roam far and wide throughout the realms. They are brave and have connections other nobles couldn't dream of. Ambassadors trusted with the most vital task of all, forming alliances and dealing with delicate situations in the King's name.
The Chief Ambassador manages the Ambassadors of the Kingdom, coordinating their responsibilities and travels. The Chief Ambassador travels much less frequently than other Ambassadors and only on the most vital of diplomatic missions. The Chief Ambassador has free reign over diplomatic activity for the Kingdom.
Judges travel the Kingdom, spreading justice and fairness to the farthest reaches. They are well respected and are empowered to settle disputes in the King's name.
The Chief Judge manages the Judges of the Kingdom, coordinating their responsibilities and travels. The Chief Judge has free reign over judicial activity within the Kingdom.
The Chief Alderman manages the Council of Aldermen. As "councilor to the councilors", the Chief Alderman is also the chief councilor to the King and is not often far from his side. The Chief Alderman is responsible for elevating deserving nobles into positions of leadership in the land. While the "Chiefs" are selected by the King, the Ambassadors, Judges, and Aldermen are selected and assigned by the Council of Aldermen.
The Aldermen (same title regardless of man or woman) are the eyes of the Kingdom. They council with the King and watch the nobles of the land. They often act as mentors, helping new nobles get settled, but are equally important in recognizing and rewarding achievement. Any Alderman can bestow the title of Lord/Lady on a deserving noble and the Council of Aldermen confer to select new Ambassadors, Judges, and Aldermen.
The Kingdom of Eternal Sun was established when Oso Savagewood decided to see who was running things in the world and travelled from his meager family hold into the city of Egecir.
He looked around and soon realized that nobody was running things. The peasants were working but they seemed far happier than he had ever remembered peasants looking. When he asked one of them who was in charge, he received a suspicious look. The peasant shifted his stance to cover a posted sign.
Upon shoving the peasant out of the way, Oso saw that elections were being held. There were only two nobles in the realm and the other one hadn't shown up. Oso thought for a long time before deciding what to do. He then placed a vote for himself and waited.
At sundown the votes, well the vote, was counted. Oso was the new ruler. He quickly changed Tor Arith into The Kingdom of Eternal Sun and named himself king. Then he went to sleep, feeling pretty pleased with himself.
