Wastes of the West is an independent realm.
This is the rulership position for the realm.
Thathuston Barony was created by the Duke Håragar Harðráði in Year 13 and granted to Dame Ophelia McTang in fief. During Baroness Ophelia's tenure, the Barony's capital was Utica with satellite villages on the northwest coast and in the western Scrublands. The Baroness and her House McTang had a burgeoning reputation as effective diplomats and happy warriors. The whole family succumbed to the blight early in Year 14.
A McTang vassal, Sir Asón Anum, was elected to the baronage in Year 14 Week 16. The capitol was relocated to Caerleon and the Barony's territory consolidated in the western Scrublands. Under Baron Asón, the Barony's capitol became the west's wealthiest estate. The Baron's heir is Lady Zara Caitlín Anum, a shieldmaiden in the Kortauri Lowlands.
After the slumber of the Ansoms, a long period of anarchy led to the scrublands devolving into a lawless and savage land. Roaming bands of desert folk arose, and with them barbarian descendants rose to prominence to lead them. No longer recognizable as the noble Thathuston of old, the crazed zealot The Blood Priest took control and began a campaign to soak the desert in blood. The scrublands are now a blighted land. A land of strife and death. A land that is now known as the Wastes of the West.
End of Thathuston
Roused from slumber's embrace, the Asrian lords of the shattered Neo-Eternal Empire led their followers on a great pilgrimage to the northwestern wastelands. In the desolate and blighted lands of Thathuston, where Anarcho-Barbarians prowled and petty warlords engaged in unceasing war, they found their new refuge. The sons of Asrania swept across the barren earth, a storm of violence that swept away the chaos of the barbarians. The final warlords were met with swift justice, and the Duchy was cast into oblivion, its very existence erased from the pages of history.
