Realm Description

The House of Order began as a military arm of the Provectus Tormenta, an organization that was the successor of the Midnight Legion, charged with the destruction of Distortions and Abominations.

After the Civil War it transcended it's original designation as a sub-organization, and became the only one of it's kind, while retaining it's objectives and purpose.

Though, only a select few are members of the House of Order, it competes for the title of the deadliest and most powerful military organization in existence, with only one other contender.

Most of it's members are remnants of the Midnight Legion, and as such they have millennia of military experience of fighting against the Gods themselves, which is often touted as the reason behind their effectiveness in combat, bringing in tactics to the field never seen before, leaving only scant few survivors, often too traumatized to tell the tale.

STRUCTURE

The House of Order follows a loose organizational structure. It is divided into three 'Courts', each with two Fortress Cities. The Captains of each Fortress City has Lieutenants whom serve them. There is no leader per say, but the First Knight and the Shadow usually direct the organization, but all Captains and Lieutenants have semi-executive say. Freedom of action and information is the main-stay of the House of Order. The numbering of the Knights has no reflection on their political power, or ability, but the title of the First is usually given to the most powerful entity.

CULTURE

Carrying not only a rich history from it's days as the Midnight Legion, the more recent Imperial Civil War added to the House of Order's long list of achievements, and set it apart from any other organization in the world, in that it showed the world some of the strange practices of it's members. Every member of the House of Order is required to wear a mask, and respond only to a name given to them. The name itself is not a name, but rather a series of words, believed to correspond to some greater purpose of the individual.

RUMORS AND MYSTERIES

Rumors are abound that the House of Order practices strange magics, never seen before. Besides wielding weapons and armor of magical nature, it is believed that the House of Order in general, has the ability to see into the future, leading to their success on the battlefields. Though it is more likely that the experience of it's members gives them a strategic advantage, which could seem like prescience.

The House of Order uses a 'Naming Ceremony' ritual to accept new members into their organizations, often believed to be a ritualistic destruction of the initiate's name and past.

They are believed to be following a religion or code referred to as 'The Aelwyn Tradition'. Some tenets of this tradition are known, and identifies the House of Order most strongly: The protection of the Spiral, which they believe is the mechanism of death and rebirth.

The Aelwyn Tradition that with every discordant deed done out of malice, the Spiral warps further than it already is. Warmongers and schemers whose actions result in the loss of many innocent lives are the prime culprits who warp the Spiral- they are referred to as Abominations.

The Aelwyn Tradition also states that as a result of the warping, souls that are reborn take some of the malice with them into their new life, and as a result, go down a similar path as abominations. They are referred to as Distortions.

They possess magic of cleansing the Void, and are unaffected by it.
