The ruler of the Duchy of Lumen
The council acts as advisers to the Duke in all matters.
The new realm of Lumen was established by Eamon Overton on the 5th day of week 6 in year 3. It strives to rebuild the land of the Empire, to protect the mortals of the land, to grow in honour and prestige as a people, and to protect the very culture at their core.
The original realm of Lumen was ruled by the Verus family and then the Kallergis family. Even at the very colonisation of this world, Lumen began. As the Erstes Imperium expanded across the barren lands, Duke Verus consolidated this central region and soon Lumen was a seat of power in the Empire.
Then, the hordes from Rathgar descended on Lakehold, and in the chaos, the realm fell to disarray. Duke Alexius Verus and his family disappeared and have not been heard of since. And though Lady Artha Kallergis struggled to revive the realm, it was too little and Lumen collapsed from the inside - the Kallergis family falling to the slumberblight, a most terrible of illnesses, and have not been woken.
Little is left of this legacy, but a few words from a great speech of Duke Verus.
"Lumen stands at the very center of the Erstes Imperium. It is a duchy that seeks to thrive in all areas from trade to warfare through innovation, adaptability and hard work. It is a place where those who are competent and bright will be rewarded for their contributions, for we believe that excellency is the foundation for a strong realm and a strong nobility.
Whether you are a scholar, a warrior, an administrator, a priest or something else you are welcome here as long as you you're willing to put your skills to work for the good of our cause. A new world provides many opportunities for those who dream are not afraid to do what they must to turn these dreams into reality.
Together we can bring civilization to this land, a civilization better and stronger than that of the old world, one that has learned from the mistakes of the past and seeks to create a bright new future."
