Realm Description

The Southern Caorrani Island was split by William Cousland into the Counties of Eileaniar and Eileaniòn under the Duchy of Gallaran. He took the eastern County for himself, and the western side was awarded to the Forthgards. That gave William enough power to create his own Branch of House Cousland, The Couslands of Eileaniar.

After the betrayal of Michael Forthgard and his family, Eileaniòn was granted to Eileen Mac Mairtain.

Following William's death, his son Loghain Eilean inherited Eileaniar and invaded the twin County. He argued that only an unified island would be able to protect its metal deposits from foreign threats, and that the island deserved recognition from the Crown as one of the Kingdom's greatest assets and shouldn't be subjected to another Duchy.

After months of strife and battles, and using roguish methods of cloak and dagger, Loghain got what he so desperately wanted. King Cailean the Undying, in an effort to avoid further bloodshed, named him the Duke of The United Counties of Eileaniar and Eileaniòn, with the promise that Loghain would swear his undying loyalty to the Crown.

Thus, the title of Duke of The United Counties of Eileaniar and Eileaniòn was created. Following his meteoric ascencion, Duke Loghain changed the name of his cadet branch to House Eilean, in order to carve out his own name.
