Born from the ashes of the remaining houses of Ariamis. The Lucernia Council convened and announced with the striking of a hammer to a massive bell. The sound echoing across the land indicating a new ruler has been declared at last.
With this toning of the bell. Came with it a new ruling council made of Hammerhold and The Iron Mountains. May the new history of this noble realm begin!
===============Ancient Historic Documents===================
Ariamis is well respected and seen as good by most other realms; a true gem and example of what good leadership and a benevolent ruler can bring about. But behind the scenes all is not rainbows and tulips. With a ruler far more inline with King John than Richard the Lionheart and a few scheming Dukes and greedy vassals, Ariamis is a dangerous place to be sure. Add to that the constant attempts on the Kings life and the relative insanity of the royal family, and you can see how volatile everything truly is. You must be cautious.
Ariamis did not start as it is now, it started as a small realm with little power and little potential, but through the unification of the Highlands it has become the third largest realms in the world. However it is not truly one realm but seven, and each has its own culture that was born prior to their unification under Ariamis. The laws of the realm restrict little and simply hold that the King is responsible for the realms defense and Dukes are responsible for their own. Although each raises the banner of Ariamis, internal conflict could begin at any moment and the strength of its ruler and loyalty of his vassals is what holds it all together.
One cannot speak of the history of Ariamis without speaking about the Nrillinthias family and their past. Before the wars of the Gods and the birth of the human race, the foothills of the Highlands were home to the Nrillinthias, a peaceful and kind family that did what they could to avoid the war. However as the gods moved darkness fell over their lands; they were forced into the north and into the conflict. Although they fought well, their hearts never left their homeland.
On the 1st day of the 34th week, a miracle and a blessing shined down upon them. The darkness that had kept them from their land was lifted, and all manner of First Ones rushed to claim the land. Although their claim was strongest of those traveling south, Vladimir and his family were forced to battle many to lay claim to his homelands and found that where diplomacy failed, strength prevailed. Pushing back against the Emperors forces and mercenaries, Vladimir claimed most of the lands of his ancestors and founded Ariamis on the 5th day of the 38th week.
With the family lands recaptured, Vladimir began helping other nobles claim and hold what they could. Priestess Xerxsephnia Selene Di'Vorga was the first to join and raise the flag of Ariamis. With the philosophy of the Path, she brought wisdom and knowledge that has helped Ariamis expand and maintain a heart of discovery and acceptance.
During the 43rd week, Tarvall and Ariamis joined together, creating a unity that has protected the highlands from any major conflict, and Goldvale joined shortly after. With Duke Ironbark, High Chancellor Montford, Priestess Xerxsephnia and King Nrillinthias, Ariamis passed from a possibility into a reality, one that would stand the test of time.
As First Ones of Ariamis you are expected to always act with strength and honor. That is our guiding principle.
As your King I am responsible for defense of the realm, and to protect our lords from external invasion, I will call on the Dukes for warriors and they will call on their Lords.
Dukes are responsible for the defense of their duchy and when it comes to protecting the duchies from each other, I have the right to issue a stop to any internal war should good reason come for me to do so. An outside threat being the primary example. Other than that they are free to act as you see fit.
Inside the duchies, it is the Duke's responsibility to manage any conflict that might arise and they can do so however you see fit.
As First Ones, you are also responsible for the protection of the realm, to respond to the call of your liege, manage your estates well, and to act always with strength and honor.
One dishonorable and cowardly act that from this point forth will not be tolerated in Ariamis, is attacking an estate within Ariamis while we are under attack from an outside force.
This is the law of Ariamis to which we all are bound. May it bring prosperity to our young realm.
