It is said that the first of the Kireina Dynasty originated from the tale of the Goddess of the Sea and Storms and a girl who was the child of a Draegon.
Long ago, before the Gods Wars, there was a young girl, who lived on the grassy hills over the great East Coast, with her grandmother. The days were quiet, and she grew up not knowing much of the world, but rather listening to the tales of her grandmother. Strange stories, of great seas and distant shores, of faraway horizons, and majestic skies. It was a carefree way of life.
However, this was not to last forever. Eventually the old grandmother grew much older and became sickly.
The old lady told her of a story, of an ancient battle, long before Man, or rather the firstborn,
Draegons, who were born from the fires, given life by the embers. They were an immortal race that could walk, swim and fly, who ruled everything under the heavens, up where their creators lived. They built great cities and cultures, and spread across the world, with fantastical inventions and philosophies. They were pious, and made offerings to the Gods.
But the Draegons could never applease the Divine.
For they were not made in the image of the Gods, unlike Man, which was later made from the earth, given life by the muds. They were a mortal race, that could only walk and barely swim, and ruled nothing, and did not know of the creators. They built hovel and shacks, and were ignorant of culture nor science. They were heathen, and bickered amongst themselves.
Yet the Gods would tell the Draegons to make way for Man. Draegon refused, and Gods fought Draegon. Draegon fought Man. Draegon was defeated, and cast from the skies and the lands, forced into the seas. They were stripped of their immortality, which was then bestowed upon Man. First Ones.
The old grandmother was one of the Draegon, who fell in love with a Man, one of their magicians. He crafted a spell, and she was made to look like Man. Their peace was not to last, as the Man was called to war by his liege, and never returned. The Draegons were cursed to never leave the seas, even with a powerful spell, she could never venture far from the coast, not out of eyeshot of the waves.
The girl was asked by her grandmother, one last final dying request. To be brought far inland, where the grandfather had laid to rest. Two left the cottage by the sea, and only one returned.
The girl became sick too, from leaving the sea, and went to the beach to cry. There, only by happen stance, the Goddess of the Seas and now the Storms heard her cry. Caelestia, came down from the heavens. There, the Goddess freed the girl from the curse of her lineage.
With the bloodline of both ancient Draegons, and the immortality of the First Ones, she left the continent.
Eventually, her descendants would return to that very coast. For the Kireinas, by divine mandate, rule once, and will again and evermore, the lands, seas, skies and all under Heaven.
