Negotiators are those individuals who travel from settlement to settlement, on behalf of their District of the Iunan Merchant Company, arranging trade deals with those about the area. They are required by Company regulation not to misrepresent the district they are assigned, so it is built into their title. Typically, every major trading post will have a Negotiator assigned to it. They may, on occasion, have several Sword Hands under their dispatch, and potentially even local district Governors.
Given the scope of the Company's operations, geographical areas that the company has a presence in are divided into Districts, which are in turn controlled by an Administrator. District Administrators are expected to handle the daily operation of transactions and assets within their purview.
Governors within the Iunan Merchant Company usually report either to Negotiators, Province Overseers, or the District Administrator themself. They have no rights to negotiate on behalf of the company whatsoever, however they do tend to the settlements not directly controlled by a higher up. They may on occasion, also, have several Sword Hands in their employ.
The Fading Isles District of the Iunan Merchant Company is effectively the Company's heartlands. From here a lot of the top-level administration of the company takes place, and the majority of new troops are produced for use at the company's various posts.
Originally founded as the Fading Isles District of the Iunan Merchant Company, the Free Merchant Fleet was organized after a change in how business is conducted by the Company.
Officially, the Free Merchant Trader's Fleet of the Isles handles most inter-isle mercantile activity of the Fading Isles.
