Those that make up the ranks of the Unworthy are untrusted and untested in battle and even some are captives or criminals. Many take the surname of Skye which conveys a similar status. After a period of testing, typically 10 battles, an Unworthy can petition the Kael for the removal of the title. Those that remain Unworthy for longer periods typically seek to be Raven Marked by Clan Skies Kael after 25 or more battles.
Those that have proven themselves in battle and are considered by their peers to be masters of their field, be it axe, spear, blade, or bow are recognized by the Mark of the Raven etched upon their weapon’s blade or shaft. Simply the sight of a Raven Marked weapon has turned the tide for some, ended confrontations for others, or initiated duels.
The Mark of the Raven is depicted as a raven in flight, wings outstretched and upward, as it descends down upon its prey.
Raven Marked is akin to such titles as Blade Master, Weapons Master, Master Archer, etc.
