Reiche, die zu Cattenwald gehören:The Duke, or Mormaer, is the overall ruler of the realm though they may be replaced with an Aetheling by the agreement of the Higher Council and the blessing of the Seers.
A noble nominated by agreement of both Councils as a worthy claimant to the High Chiefdom (Duchy). There can be any number of Aethelings - the position is for life and can not be revoked.
A noble of Cattenwald who rules an estate of their own. Thegns sit in the Lower Council with the Seers. A noble is not considered a Thegn if they are also and Ealdorman or Seer.
A landless warrior who has undertaken the ritual of blood and been accepted into Cattenwald. These are sanctioned to conduct raids on bandit hideouts, dungeons and neighbouring villages as part of a war party.
An esteemed noble who rules a subrealm within Cattenwald and sits in the realm's Higher Council with the High Reeve and Duke. They have Warriors and Thegns in their service and are responsible for choosing the Aethelings and rulers.
A disavowed member of the realm deemed unworthy of our name or a ciminal to be tracked down and brought to justice
The knight or lord chosen by the Duke to lead the armies of Cattenwald in wartime and to ensure proper organisation of defences.
A wise noble who has demonstrated their understanding of the signs, the destinies of our people and the will of the gods. They also sit on the Lower Council with the Thegns.
From the ashes of Copsebeard and Asitet Anoth in the Children of Armok, the Duchy of Cattenwald arose to unite the fractured lands east of Armok's Tear.
Edda Vanhalen ruled the land for a time and then as her health waned she passed rulership to Elisabeth Gifford who established a new order in the land.
