The Western Baronies is a County comprised of the two most western Baronies of Caorran.
While the terrain may be poor and unfit for large-scale agriculture, the history of these lands is quite rich. The Baronies were united under a single County, which was the historical home to Clan Drachenfels. After their slumber, the Forthgards took over the lands.
Following their betrayal, the Forthgards were hunted down and killed by the Caorrani nobility. The Baronies were then separated as two different entities and awarded to Sir Alasdair Teare, who served as the interim ruler until new Clans or Houses took over the lands.
Unfortunately, Caorran was struck by a slumberblight pandemic, and the Baronies were never claimed by a noble House. Alasdair, being a respected and fair ruler, was named the Baron of both Tharfairge and The North Reach. He founded his own noble cadet branch of the Couslands, House Teare, and married a Cousland girl.
Upon inheriting her father's titles after his death, his daughter Saoirse Cousland Teare united both Baronies again under a single state and was declared the Countess of The Western Baronies.
