Read a Journal Entry

Journals are player created messages about things in game. Most of the time these can be considered to be known things, as somethig your character heard via rumor, though they can also be flagged as out of character information that is really only meant for your enjoyment as a player rather than for use by your characters (unless they happen to know of it some other way.)

A Hunt In Tor Mirharg

Written by Jóra Mirya on 36-6-5 (December 27, 2022 16:02)

The loud sound of crickets under the midday sun was atypical. This land was generally frozen - or at least cold enough to prompt its inhabitants into either movement or to cozy themselves inside their homes. But today it was warm, quite warm. And nature seemed to be complaining about it.

This was not the only atypical issue. This was a frontier land, the heavy forest home to a rudimentary sparse population. Not even the roads in the plains knew heavy traffic. In this small corner of the world things flowed slowly. At least on normal days. Today servants rushed from the manor at the outskirts of Ravenseyrr towards the market, back and forth. Small caravans brought goods from every spot of the clan's lands: fresh berries and game from the western forests, flour and tapestries from the northern plains, spices and cattle from the wastelands. Anything they could to prepare the place for the gathering to come.

The cooks were not idle either and toiled in temporary structures. Hastily-erected pavilions stood ready not merely to house the noble guests, but also to extend the whole of the estate's structure, which would have had a hard time receiving over a dozen on its own. It was a modest place, as was the rest of the land: solid but unadorned timber structures that seemed more prepared towards defense than comfort, roads of freshly-cut stone where moss had not had time to cover, all manners of luxury would have to be imported to provide for any demanding-enough visitor.

In silence, overlooking it all, stood tall Jóra Mirya, her natural height making her tower a head above the tallest of the second ones buzzing about. Dark blue eyes gazed not just the servants, but also the horizon in where the road stretched and bent - it would not do to be caught unprepared when the time arrived. Her garments light, given the weather: a simple knee-reaching black tunic of a coarse and fuzzy material, leather sandals adorned with bronze and a cape made of multiple cloth slices, all dyed in different colors. Five braids clasped by multiple small gold rings flowing behind her back, there was also solid gold on her neck, where her torc rested.

If This Was To Your Liking, Perhaps There Are Other Things They've Written...
